OUR STORY:

In celebration of Ann Sikorski, Great Grandmother to our daughter Kara, who has inherited the Celiac Disease Gene and developed IBD (inflammatory bowel disease).

Babci, (Polish for Grandmother) passed away in the summer of 2007.  She lived her life the way she wanted to and enjoyed every minute!  We want all children who live with Celiac Disease and/or IBD to enjoy every minute of their life too!

All monies raised will provide additional research and public awareness for families who have children diagnosed with Celiac Disease and/or IBD.  This race is organized by family and friends of patients who are treated by CCMC
(Connecticut Children's Medical Center).

CELIAC DISEASE AND IBD:

Nearly 1 in every 130 individuals have Celiac Disease.

There is an estimated 50,000 – 100,000 children and adolescents impacted with a form of IBD.

These diseases affect boys and girls equally and across all ethnic groups.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Help us Find a Cure and Ease the Pain

This event will support these children to ensure long-term continuation of cutting-edge, bio-medical research devoted to the cause of and finding a cure for Pediatric IBD and providing sensitive and caring support for children, parents and caregivers for children who live with these diseases.

The proceeds will fund Celiac and IBD research support programs at the
 Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
